Halloween

My aunt and I have always loved to make costumes and be crafty. When I was a baby, I was a Siamese Cat. I had little tiny baby cat ears, and we drew whiskers and a nose on me. I had a little tan onesie little brown pants. It was adorable, and most kids don’t dress up like that kind of cat, but I think it was important to my mom because she had always had that type of cat and if I remember correctly, it was my first Halloween. When I was four, my aunt made five poodle skirts. One for me, and my four cousins. I had a red one with a sequin black cat on the bottom. We all had little white and black shoes and I had a white sweater shirt, like the one Sandy wore in Grease. My hair was up in a really high ponytail and I matched all of my cousins. Another costume I wore, was a Kim Possible one. I had the black eye mask, and a felt green belly button shirt. I had black parachute pants and I carried around a walkie talkie. After that, I was Hannah Montana. I had a weird little scarf and jacket on a layered shirt. I wore jeans and cow girl boots. It all came together with my Hannah Montana Sing Along Karaoke Microphone. Next I wore an ugly pink tutu with black and pink leggings and black flats. I had a pink shirt, and black wings. I had teased and frizzy hair that was spray painted pink. With heavy dark black eye shadow and black lip stick. We never actually figured out what I was, but it was fun! The next one was a SpongeBob costume. I was literally a giant foam SpongeBob that went over the clothes. Another year I was a football player with a Chiefs jersey and face paint. I didn’t do much that year. Next I was a cat again. This time, I was a basic cat. I had the same ears as everyone else. I had a leopard shirt with black leggings and brown boots. The next year I was a tourist. I found one of my dad’s old Hawaiian shirts and tucked into my jeans. I had a flower necklace and a camera. I had a pink visor and warm fuzzy socks with Chaco’s.  This year, I’m dressing up as Minnie Mouse for the kids at work. I have Minnie Mouse ears with a big red bow on it, a black scoop neck shirt and me and my aunts made a skirt. It has big white polka dots on a red pattern. I’m wearing tights and black flats. It’s pretty cute and my boyfriend wants to go as Mickey, as well.

We had my Aunt’s trunk decorated like a fortune teller’s home. We had festive pillows in all sorts of hippie colors. We had beads and long curtains hanging from the back of the ruck. She had a small table and a couple chairs sitting out in front of the trunk. She even had a glass globe that had blueish and purple and grey and black Smokey looking clouds inside of it. They spun and rotated around the big heavy ball. The globe would smoke and bubble when you touched it. It was so cool. We were sure she was going to win first place. The only problem, was my brother. He never pays attention and tears everything up. But we still love him and wouldn’t trade him for anything. He comes plowing through and tripped over the table and the beautiful smokey globe shattered all over the parking lot.  My aunt was so devastated. He totally crushed everyone’s moods. But as for me, my cousins and Mitchell, the bad mood only lasted for a few minutes. Once we started going from car to car getting candy, we all lightened up. Once it gets dark, the church does a big bonfire. They sell s’mores and chili and hot apple cider and hot chocolate. Later on there’s even a hay ride. They have little games like horse shoes. All in all, it was a really fun night.

Q: Are teens hard on their parents?

A: okay, so I’m going to be a hypocrite for a minute. When teens don’t get what they want, they seem to make a big deal over everything. I do it as well. Parents, can invade our space though. They want to make sure were safe in everything we do. They pick at every detail and drill you and want to know everything. Parents think they always know better and try to step in and fix everything. The more they poke, the more annoyed the kids get and then the fight back. Don’t forget, the C R A Z Y hormones that are erupting in us. We will scream exactly what we’re thinking. We will say things we mean, and things we don’t mean. We sometimes say things that can hurt our parents, like the classic “I hate you” *slams bedroom door* or the “I can’t wait to move out”. Teens get very irrational, and don’t think about anything but the thing they’re trying to accomplish. If parents and teens had just a little more communication we would be better off.

Q: Can you know in three days that you love someone?

A: When you’re in love, time means nothing. I think that if you have a strong connection, and you feel it, then go for it. However, some people fall in lust, not love. I feel that if you are attracted to things about them, and not how they make you look or feel or what they give you. If you are fading into his big blue eyes, and his perfect dirty blonde/brown hair, and the dimples under his eyes when he smiles and the way his eyes twinkle when he smiles and you love his laugh and when you drive away from his house and all you can think about is the next time you get to see him and be with him. If what makes him, him is what draws you in, then I don’t think time matters. And the rest is just a bonus. After all, what if we all fall in love in 3 days, but don’t realize for months.

Q:I’ve never heard a good pick up line. I love bad pickup lines and here’s a few.

  1. If you were a fruit, you’d be a fineapple.
  2. I think you’re suffering from a lack of vitamin me
  3. Hey! Feel my sweater! Know what it’s made of? Boyfriend Material
  4. Your hand looks heavy, let me hold it for you!
  5. Are you a campfire because you’re hot and I want s’more
  6. Are you a tower because Eiffel for you

My Future's Ahead Of Me

  • the writing process is very extensive. Its very hard to find a publisher
  • there are weekly writing/editing groups that meet to read and edit each other's work, even if it doesn't get published

  1. When reading others work in your group, what was the best piece that you've read?  Have any been published?

In five years, i hope to have found my one, and be engaged or married. Im hoping to be getting or better yet, done with school and getting into a classroom. I want to be student teaching or teaching my own class. In 10 years, I want to be in my class. I want my own class at a school i want to stay at. I definitely want to be married in a house in a town like Republic, where you're close enough to city, but also in the country. I want to be starting my family and getting my life on track. In 50 years, i want to be teaching and maybe about to retire. soon after I retire, I'm hoping to be able to travel to all the cities that i haven't got to yet with my husband.

Paris (inspired poem)

Image result for leonid afremov
The lights on the street are calling me
The Eiffel Tower is crying my name
My name is rolling off of the tongue of a French boy
Paris is begging for me to walk its streets
This plane is overcrowded and smelly
The man next to me, makes wish we were going faster
I wish the baby, would sleep like a baby for at least 20 minutes
For now, ill pretend these crackers are French bread
And this club soda, is a delectable French Wine
Paris is waiting for me.

Tints Of Blue ( inspired poem)

The sound of rain falling from the leaves and tapping on my umbrella

I felt the warmth of his arm, holding the umbrella in attempt to keep me dry

His big blue eyes stopped and twinkled like fireworks on a warm July night.

Lips quivering, as if he was about to confess to murder

It seemed as if the world got quite to hear what he had to say

Butterflies hatched from their cocoons and fluttered around my stomach

The shade of blue in his eyes changed to a lighter tint

He leaned in as my world dropped, the only thing on my mind was him

The soft touch of his lips mixed with the millions of butterflies dancing in my stomach

His lips shook as he mumbled in my ear, sending a chill through my spine

“I love you”

artist profile:Leonid Afremov

Leonid Afremov was born to a show maker and designer, Arkadiy Afremov and a metal factory worker, Bella Afremov. He was an only child that was born on July 12, 1955 in Vitebsk, Belarus, Russia. When he was in school, he loved social studies and art. He took every art class offered and even took private lessons outside of school. He graduated from Vitebsk education Institute and graduated as an elite member from Vitebsk Art School. He later met and married the love of his life, Inessa Kagan. They had two sons, Dmitry and Boris.

Throughout his life, Afremov encountered many difficulties. He grew up in home with his parents and grandparents. They were a Jewish family in Russia right after the war. It was still illegal for Jewish people to practice their traditions, but his family still did. They also spoke Yiddish at home, which is a Jewish language.  In his life, he experienced the Chernobyl Disaster. His family was close enough to the event, that the radiation effected their daily lives. Small children in their town were getting sick from the radiation in the water, including his son.  In his lifetime, other events that occurred were the NASA moon landing, the fall of the Berlin Wall, and 9/11.

When his son started getting sick, he moved his family out of Russia and into Israel. He had problems selling his art, since he had recently emigrated from Russia. Nobody wanted to by his artwork. Most people don’t know that for a long time, he was miserable paining. He used water colors and had to paint what people would buy so that he could support his family. At one point, his sons had to go door to door selling the paintings. Eventually, more and more people began buying. He experimented and found his new calling; painting with oils and pallet knife. He also opened his own gallery.

He is still alive, and well, and 60 years old. His three ,most favorite pieces are bellow.
